IAM for King Abdullah Financial District, Riad, Saudi Arabia

IAM assembled a team of experts to compile a feasibility report for a multipurpose building combining a digital art museum, galleries, culinary experiences and concept stores. The Events Investment Fund (EIF) focuses on enhancing Saudi Arabia's cultural landscape. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enrich the cultural and arts sectors in the Kingdom supporting the Vision 2030.

Jio World Drive and Maker Maxity Mumbai, India, 2018-2022

IAM collaborates with real estate developer Manish Maker at Mumbai's Jio World Drive, placing iconic art installations, including Arne Quinze's 'Stilthouse,' a tribute to Dharavi, Susanne Rottenbacher's light sculpture reminiscent of the site's cinematic past, and Grimanesa Amoros' 'Golden Array,' a nod to electrical cables visible in the streets of Mumbai, into the Mall and office buildings of the complex in Bandra Kurla.

Steidl Publishers and Kunsthaus Göttingen, Germany, 2019-2021

In close collaboration with the city of Göttingen and esteemed publisher Gerhard Steidl, IAM developed and implemented the marketing and public relations strategy for the Kunsthaus Göttingen, coordinating marketing efforts, launching the website, and advising on campaigns, sponsorship, and media relations for its 2021 opening.

The British artist Alex Chinneck utilized humor in his sculpture associating the fire extinguisher with the daily financial challenges of the bank.

Rolls-Royce Artist Commission Mohammed Kazem, Sankt Gallen Switzerland

Kazem, a member of the informal group of Emirati artists known as the 'Five,' embarked on a unique project with the support of Rolls-Royce Motorcars, resulting in a departure from his usual focus on capturing transient phenomena like sound and light. His fascination with collecting and documenting information, from childhood to adulthood, is reflected in the design of the car. Inspired by the artisans behind each Rolls-Royce, Kazem meticulously mapped the GPS coordinates of these craftsmen from across the United Kingdom, incorporating them as an abstract motif into his design.

His sculptures are made from compressed PVC, brass, steel, and equipped with hinges and rotatable devices. These materials allow his pieces to be transformed and interacted with in three-dimensional space, embodying his artistic exploration of urban imperfections and spaces​.

The Sotheby's Institute of Art Master Class titled "Art and Luxury" offers an in-depth exploration of the intersection between the art world and the luxury industry. It explores the roles of artists, designers, and curators within the luxury market and discusses significant art-luxury collaborations. IAM gives students practical insights on how projects and art collaborations are marketed and integrated into business practices.

Rolls-Royce Artist Commission Isaac Julien Venice Biennale, Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach

At the 56th Venice Biennale, British artist Isaac Julien unveiled a project titled "Stones Against Diamonds," developed in collaboration with Rolls-Royce. This film installation, inspired by a passage from Lina Bo Bardi’s letter, delved into the themes of semi-precious stones versus precious gemstones and the subconscious processes in creative production.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars showcased "Moving Mountains," a new work by Chinese artist Yang Fudong, as part of its Art Programme. This 46-minute black-and-white film draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese fable of the 'foolish man,' emphasizing perseverance, and the early 1940s ink painting by Xu Beihong. The project, facilitated by IAM, marks a notable advancement in Yang's career, blending film with sketch-like qualities.

Sudarshan Shetty Mumbai, India

Shetty’s work comprises a two- channel film anchored by two wooden structures. Entitled ‘A Song A Story’, it was on view from 18 -25 November 2016 at the Maker Maxity in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai, alongside Shetty’s existing ‘Flying Bus’ public art project. Sudarshan Shetty, commenting on his work for the Art Programme, said, “It is a powerful experience for me as an artist to be part of the Rolls-Royce Art Programme and to have the freedom to further explore my own practice in my native India. For me, it was a privilege to be part of the Programme and to align a level of craftsmanship in my own work with that of Rolls-Royce.” Shetty was the first artist from India to join the Rolls-Royce Art Programme, founded in celebration of the marque’s commitment to creating unique, rare and aesthetically powerful motor cars, which transcend the world of conveyance to become works of art themselves. Earlier this year, he was appointed as Artistic Director of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, which opens in December 2016.

Janaina Tschäpe, Rolls-Royce Art Program Art Basel Miami Beach

For the art program for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, IAM facilitated the selection of and realization of an installation with the renowned artist Janaina Tschäpe. The artist is celebrated for her striking performative photography, videos, and lush oil paintings, expertly merges real aquatic scenes with surrealistic imagery. 

This collaboration aligns seamlessly with Rolls-Royce's brand ethos. Tschäpe is an experimental and innovative artist whose confident and independent style diverges from mainstream art, resonating with the distinctive and autonomous spirit embodied by Rolls-Royce's iconic figurehead, the Spirit of Ecstasy. The development and transformation themes in her art echo the continuous evolution and pioneering spirit of Rolls-Royce vehicles.

Moreover, the setting for this program's launch is artfully chosen. Tschäpe’s work, with its vibrant, tropical undertones, harmonizes perfectly with the atmosphere of Miami, especially during the Art Basel Miami Beach (ABMB). This synergy creates an immersive experience that transcends traditional automotive branding, merging high art with luxury motoring to craft a distinctive cultural and aesthetic statement.

Ana Maria Tavares Gallery Weekend Berlin

As part of the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Arts Programme Ana Maria Tavares unveiled her installation "Deviating Utopias" from the Social Hieroglyphs series at the BMW Haus Kurfürstendamm during Gallery Weekend. The work continues Tavares' exploration of the interplay between art, architecture, and design, influenced by Brazil's modernist architectural legacy. The installation, inspired by her visit to the Rolls-Royce headquarters in Goodwood, England, merged technology with craftsmanship, reflecting the sophisticated qualities of Rolls-Royce cars.

 

The exhibition, which ran from May 1st to 11th, 2015, also examined the impacts of iconic figures such as Joseph Paxton, Oscar Niemeyer, and Roberto Burle Marx. The event highlighted Tavares' ability to blend engineering and nature through her artistic vision, facilitated by IAM Arts.

Exhibition Bernard Plossu Art After Work, IAM Munich

In the offices of IAM Munich with a historical courtyard, IAM regularly presents new and established artists. Bernard Plossu, a French photographer born 1945 in Vietnam, is celebrated for his poetic approach to photography, which captures the transient moments of life with a profound sense of intimacy and immediacy. His work feels like a visual diary, where each photograph serves as a lyrical meditation on the landscapes and people he encounters. Plossu's style is characterized by a soft-focus effect, giving his images a dream-like quality that emphasizes emotion over detail.

Manal Al-Dowayan, Art Dubai

At Art Dubai 2015, Saudi Arabian artist Manal Al Dowayan presented her immersive video installation "I Had No Wings," art advised by IAM. The piece featured four wall-sized screens displaying footage combined with sound, creating a unique sensory experience that enveloped the audience. Al Dowayan described the work as stemming from videos taken from the back of a car as she navigated the streets of a Saudi Arabian city. This setup underscored themes of transience and the liminal space between present and future, reflecting on the states of physical and ethereal existence.

The installation not only showcased the video but also included the cars that inspired the piece, positioned on-site. This allowed viewers to directly engage with the source of inspiration, enhancing their connection to the artwork and encouraging personal interpretations and reflections.

Isaac Julien - Art Basel Basel

Isaac Julien's video installation "Stones Against Diamonds," commissioned by Rolls-Royce, was a notable highlight of the art world in 2015. Filmed in the secluded glacial ice caves of Iceland, the work draws inspiration from a letter by Brazilian modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi, focusing on her appreciation for semi-precious stones. In the film, Julien employs the iconic Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, personified by actress Vanessa Myrie as a 'spirit guide,' leading viewers through a transformative journey across diverse landscapes.

The installation made its debut at a private showing during the Venice Biennale and was subsequently unveiled to the public at Art Basel. This project, facilitated by IAM, showcases Julien's ability to weave together themes of art, architecture, and luxury automotives into a visually stunning narrative that captures the essence of Bo Bardi's architectural philosophy.

​​At SP-Arte, the São Paulo International Art Fair, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced a new commissioned artwork: an installation by the acclaimed Brazilian artist Regina Silveira was set for introduction on April 2nd, with the exhibition running until April 6th, 2014. "Rolling Tracks" expanded on Silveira's decade-long exploration of 'Derrapagens,' or tyre tracks. This collaboration marked a significant development in Silveira's practice. It responded to both the architectural grandeur of Oscar Niemeyer's Biennial building, which hosted the fair, and the dynamic contours of a Rolls-Royce Ghost, merging artistic inquiry with automotive elegance in a striking depiction of movement and design.

Angela Bulloch's "Cipher of L," created for Rolls-Royce and unveiled during Frieze London was displayed in the Berkeley Square showroom. The installation reflects Bulloch's interest in systems and patterns through her signature "pixel box." This work, matching the dimensions of a Rolls-Royce Phantom, projects light in colors selected from the brand's extensive palette, showcasing the intersection of art and technology.

Artistic Director Hamburg Art Week Hamburg 2011-2013

From 2011 - 2013, HAMBURG ART WEEK showcased contemporary art to the general public. Alongside curated exhibitions in key buildings of the Hanseatic city, such as the Chilehaus and participating galleries, the focus was on connecting art with architecture, culture, economy, and society.
The term "Art in public spaces" signifies ten days of captivating sculptures, paintings, photography, street art activities, and video projections in downtown areas, HafenCity, and the promenades and passages between the Alster and the Elbe. Artistically, Hamburg Art Week featured an inspiring mix of regional artists and internationally established figures. For the first time in 2012, there was an artistic collaboration between NORD ART, with a potential of 5,000 international artists, and exhibited numerous sculptures in downtown Hamburg.
Hamburg Art Week had quickly become a major fixture in the German art scene after just two years. By 2012, the concept was even replicated in Berlin.

Installation: Xiao Hui Wang, St. Moritz Art Masters

Invited by curator Rainer Opoku, IAM realized the exhibition of Red Child in St. Moritz along with texts, artist talk with Xiao Hui Wang and guided tours.

Collaboration Häusler Contemporary, Munich 2007 - present

Strategic Partnership with Häusler Contemporary: a strategic partnership with a gallery in which IAM initiates and manages art projects with both emerging and established artists. The  role includes curating a diverse array of artworks, orchestrating exhibition setups, and working at Art Fairs. IAM leverages its expertise in art curation and market trends to assist in Client Development. This includes developing marketing strategies, negotiating sales, and managing transactions. IAM actively works on Client Acquisition and Relations by building and maintaining relationships with clients by offering personalized art consultations and organizing private viewings and gallery events. Special Artist Collaborations include James Turrell, Keith Sonnier, Brigitte Kowanz, David Reed and Jürgen Partenheimer.

Pingyao Photo Festival Pingyao, China

The Pingyao International Photography Festival, held annually in the ancient city of Pingyao, Shanxi Province, China, is a significant event in the world of photography. Established in 2001, this festival transforms Pingyao into a vast gallery where indoor and open-air photo exhibits showcase works from both professional and amateur photographers from 28 countries​. IAM collaborated with Galerie an der Pinakothek der Moderne exhibiting artists such as Kanjo Také, Xiao Hui Wang and Heng Li.

Xiao Hui Wang Retrospective Museum of Art, Tianjin, China

In collaboration with the late Walter Keller, IAM curated “Between Two Worlds” showing works of Chinese artist Xiao Hui Wang in her city of birth. Over 1800 square meters of photo works and sculptures of the artist from over three decades were exhibited.
