KUNSTHAUS GÖTTINGEN – IAM is part of a visionary team

In September 2020 the Kunsthaus Göttingen will open as a space for works on paper and new media. Apart from the exhibition of international contemporary art, the Kunsthaus is a place for education, mediation, and interaction with art, artists, and the public. IAM joined the Kunsthaus team Gerd Steidl, Founding Director of the Kunsthaus Göttingen, Ute Eskildsen – former assistant director of the Folkwang-Museum and curator for the Kunsthaus – as well as the mayor of Göttingen Rolf-Georg Köhler and Alfons von Uslar, founding managing director this year after winning the tender of the city of Göttingen.

Gerd Steidl, the worldwide-renowned publisher for photography books and famous collaborator of Karl Lagerfeld, has had the vision to open a space for contemporary art in Göttingen for the past ten years. His initiative and close collaboration with international artists in the publishing house will initiate synergies benefiting the community and establishing a landmark art center at the heart of Germany. On September 20th, 2019 is the kick-off of the Friends Circle who will financially support the Kunsthaus followed by the Roofing Ceremony in the next week.
